Flare DispenserWith this dispenser, you can manualy dispense flares to distract the attention of pursuing heat-seeking missiles. Flares are only effective against incoming heat-seeking missiles, which emit a green smoke trail. These missiles will cause the incoming heat-seeking missile detector to beep and flash, if you have won it. The number of flares available is limited in the East Island Campaign and is indicated on the panel above and to the left of the information window on the weapon panel of the console. This indicator turns black if the dispenser becomes damaged. To dispense a flare you must enter the key-code. The code to use is given here. The flare dispenser can become damaged if the Harrier is hit, but may be repaired by using the 'Console Repair' skill. This award may be won in mission Repel. This equipment forms a part of the automatic flare dispenser. The automatic dispenser will not function without it. |
