Game Over Menus

The Game Over Menu

The Game Over Menu This menu can appear under three circumstances: You have finished the mission, either by landing or crashing. You have paused the game and Quit the mission. You have landed in the East Island Campaign to re-arm and re-fuel. This menu has the following options:

  • Objectives and Awards - This option takes you to the objectives and awards screen.
  • View scores - This option shows the Scores Screen.
  • Replay mission - Restarts the mission .
  • Play next mission - takes you to the Mission Selection Screen, showing the next mission briefing. This option will be greyed if the next mission is still locked or there is no next mission in the mission group.
  • Main menu - Goes to the Main Menu.

If you are playing a mission from the East Island Campaign and you have not yet achieved all of the objectives then a further option appears on the menu, 'Re-arm and continue'. Click this option to re-arm your Harrier and continue with your mission.

  • Well Done Dialog If you have finished the mission and achieved enough objectives to be able to select a new award then this dialog is shown. When you click OK the Game Over menu is skipped and you are taken straight to the Objectives And Awards Screen to choose your award or awards.

The Objectives And Awards Screen

Objectives And Awards You can arrive at this screen by clicking Objectives and Awards either from the Pause or Game Over menus. Coming from the pause menu you can check your current progress with the mission objectives. From the game over menu you can check how you did during the previous mission. If you have done well enough to win new awards then 'Select' buttons will appear next to the objective groups you have been succesful in. Clicking the button takes you to the Award Information Screen. Here you can see which awards are available in this mission, and select one for your success (by clicking the 'Accept Award' button). It may be that you have been successful with the mission objectives, but had already picked an award at a previous time. If this is the case a 'Swap' button will appear next to the objective group. Clicking this will again take you to the Award Information Screen, and here you can swap the award you previously took for another available one, if you wish.

The Scores Screen

The Scores Screen The Scores Screen shows scores and statistics for the current mission. Scroll the window using the scroll bar at the bottom, to see all the headings. The top three lines show scroes and statistics for civilians, your opposing forces and your total for allied forces. The bottom line shows statistics for just your own Harrier. These vary slightly from the ones above. For example, under the targets destroyed heading, the Opposing Forces row shows how many of the opposing forces vehicles, aircraft etc have been destroyed. The bottom row, however, shows how many vehicles, aircraft etc have been destroyed by your Harrier.
