The Mission Selection Screens

After selecting the Play option from the main menu, the mission group selection menu appears allowing you to select South Island Missions, West Island missions or the East Island Campaign. The West And East Island missions must be played in order initially, so select South Island missions to start with. You are now presented with the mission selection screen:

The Mission Selection Screen

Mission Selection ScreenThe mission selection screen allows you to choose the mission that you wish to play. At the top odf the screen is shown which group the mission is from, South Island Missions in this case. Underneath it shows that this is mission number one, 'Soften'. Click the adjacent Next and Previous buttons to select other missions in the group. Beneath the mission name are the Mission Briefing, Objectives and Awards tabs. The Mission Briefing tab shows a map of your flight path, and a description of the mission. You are advised to read the briefing before playing the mission. You may need to use the scroll bar on the right to read all of the briefing.

The buttons beneath the briefing are:

  • Help - Shows a short help screen.
  • Guide - Starts your web browser and links to the online players guide.
  • Training - Shows the training that is relevant to this mission. You should do the training exercises before you play the mission.
  • Play - Begins the mission.
  • List - Lists all the missions in the current group and allows you to select one. Use it as an alternative to the Next and Previous buttons.
  • Awards - Shows the Awards Information Window. You can read more about the awards available in this mission.

The Objectives Tab

Mission Selection Screen - ObjectivesThe objectives tab gives detailed information about your objectives in this mission. The first objective describes what needs to be achieved in order to unlock the next mission. In the South and West Island missions, there are more sets of objectives, the number of which depends on how many awards may be won. You may need to use the scroll bar to see all of the objective sets.

If you achieve the objectives necessary to win one, two, three or four awards then you may choose your awards from the game-over menu at the end of the mission.

The Awards Tab

Mission Selection Screen - AwardsThe awards tab gives information about the awards available in this mission. How many there are, what they are, wether you have won them already, how many can be won etc.
