The Pilot Menu

The pilot menu has the following options:

  • New Pilot - Select to enter the name of a new pilot. Options are given to copy settings and copy awards from the current pilot. If you elect to copy settings, then all of the video, audio and music settings will be copied from the current pilot into the new pilot. If you check the copy awards checkbox, then all of the awards won by the current pilot will have been won by the new pilot.
  • Select Pilot - If there is only one pilot then this option is greyed. Otherwise, select this option to change the pilot.
  • Awards - Takes you to the Awards Information Screen. First select which category of award you wish to look at; Skills, Weapons or Equipment. On the next menu select wether you wish to include all of the awards in the category, only ones that the current pilot has won, ones that are still available to win, or ones that you can only get by swapping with others that you have already won. Details of the Awards Information Screen are below.
  • Delete Pilot - Deletes all of the information about the current pilot, awards won, missions unlocked etc.

The Awards Information Screen

Awards Infomation Screen The Awards Information Screen allows you to view information about the awards that may be won in the game. At the top of the screen is shown which category the award is from, Acquired Weapons in this case. Underneath it shows that this is the 'Bomb - General Purpose' award. Click the adjacent Next and Previous buttons to select other awards in the category. Beneath the award name are the Description, Details and Mission tabs. The Description tab gives a brief description of the benefits of the award. The Details tab gives information about how to use the award, and the Mission tab gives information about which mission or missions the award may be won in, and wether it has already been won.

The buttons underneath the briefing are:

  • Help - Shows a short help screen.
  • Guide - Starts your default web browser and links to the online players guide.
  • Training - Starts the training exercise for this award, if there is one. It is helpful to do the training exercise before using the award in a mission. Award training exercises may also be run from the Mission Selection Screen.
  • List - Lists all the awards in the current category and allows you to select one. Use it as an alternative to the Next and Previous buttons.
  • Mission - Shows the Mission Selection Screen. You can read about, or play the mission there.

If you come to this screen from the game-over, Objectives And Awards Screen, then the 'Accept Award' button may be shown in place of the 'Training' button. Click to accept the current award.
